No, CUPRA Charging is for retail customers only.

What does each tariff cover?

FREE: This is our basic tariff. It lets you charge without any monthly fee. If you travel longer distances, you should consider either the Pure or the Power tariff, as these offer better pricing for charging.

  • PURE: This tariff is suitable if you travel longer distances. You pay a monthly fee, but that then gives you lower prices than the  Free tariff for AC and DC charging.
  • POWER: This tariff is suitable if you travel longer distances and want to charge more quickly and cheaply. You pay a monthly fee, but that then gets you lower prices than the  Free and Pure tariffs for AC, DC and, especially, IONITY fast charging.

Are there special tariffs for charging abroad?

There are no special tariffs for charging abroad. Your tariff is valid in all European markets where Elli has charging stations.

Does the tariff include any of the actual charging, or is it only a fixed access fee?

The tariff provides you with access to charging stations throughout Europe. The charging itself is not included in the tariff. You pay for the energy charging your car separately, based on actual consumption.

At the beginning of each new month, you receive an invoice detailing all your charging sessions.

Monthly.

What are the different altrnatives to start a public charging session?

There are currently three possibilities for starting and stopping your charging session at public charging points. One way is to authorise the session with the CUPRA Charging card (by holding it to the charging point card reader). When you start a charging session with the card, you must also end it with it.

Another way to start the charging session is to use the My CUPRA App. Select the charging point, connect the cable and click on “start charging” – after a couple of seconds (depending on your internet connection and the servers of the Charging Point Operator) the session will start.

The third method is by using the Plug&Charge functionality. Some CUPRA vehicles are equipped with this functionality. When charging your vehicle with Plug & Charge, all you must do is plug the charging cable into the vehicle and the charging process will start automatically. After the initial setup, you no longer need to use a charging card or an app when charging your vehicle at a public charging station. Please note however, that Plug & Charge is not yet available at all public charging stations. Please refer to the Plug&Charge section for more details.

What is the CUPRA Charging Card and why is it necessary?

A RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) card is necessary to sign up.

Furthermore, you need the card to activate your connected CUPRA Charger, and at many stations you can start the charging process with the card.

Is the card necessary? Can’t I just use the app for authentication?

As there are different authentication methods, the card is not mandatory. Before you charge your vehicle for the first time, you need to pair the physical card so that the app can be used for authentication at the station. Even after that, we recommend that you always keep your RFID card on you. Take into account that some of the charging points within the network might not be able yet to communicate with the MyCUPRA App.

How can I get a CUPRA Charging card?

You will be able to order it in the subscription process. The card will be posted directly to your home address.

How long will it take to receive my card?

5 to 7 working days.

Do I need to pay anything to recieve my CUPRA Charging RFID card?

No, you will get it once you subscribe to one of our tariffs.

How do I activate my CUPRA Charging card?

After you recieve your card, you need to pair it with your account in the My CUPRA App in order to activate it.

What is the difference between charging with RFID card & app?

There are currently two possibilities for starting and stopping your charging session at public charging points. One way is to authorise the session with the RFID card (by holding it to the charging point card reader). When you start a charging session with the RFID card, you must also end it with the RFID card.

Another way to start the charging session is to use the app. Select the charging point, connect the cable and click on “start charging” – after a couple of seconds (depending on your internet connection and the servers of the Charging Point Operator) the session will start.

Is the card connected to the electric vehicle?

No, it is connected to your user account and stays with you.

How many cards can be registered for 1 vehicle? What happens when other members of my family use the car (is it best to keep the card in the car at all times)?

There can only be one card per contract. This means that, if your family wants to use multiple cards, you need to sign the corresponding number of contracts. Although the aggregators don’t allow for multiple cards per contract at the present time, a function will be introduced into the app that allows you to authenticate sessions remotely without using a physical card.

Can the card be blocked to prevent misuse, for example, if I lose it?

If you lose or misplace your RFID card, it can be blocked from the CUPRA Charging application. Under the “My CUPRA Charging Cards” section in the main menu, select the card you want to block. When you select a card, its details are shown, and it can be blocked using “Block card” at the bottom of the page.

How can I get a new card if I lose the original one?

If you lose your RFID card, please contact the CUPRA Charging Customer support. You can find contact details within the My CUPRA App.

What should I do if authentication at a station doesn’t work?

Check your CUPRA Charging application to see whether you have an acte subscription and that you have an RFID card paired and set as the default for charging. If the app doesn't work, use the RFID card to authenticate and charge. If this is a recurring problem, contact customer support using the contact details on the RIFD card or in the app.

Where can I find my CUPRA Charging invoices and can I export them?

You can find your invoices within the CUPRA Charging section in the My CUPRA App.
